England captain Harry Kane has hailed Lee Carsley as caretaker boss after he hammered Ireland 5-0 to top their Nations League B2 group.

“A very important win for us. It was a very good camp and two difficult games. We finished the job in Greece and again here. It was a very difficult first half but we came in with more energy and we did it.”

“We talked about new opportunities for the new boys and they showed why they’re here and finished well. It’s good for Jarrod (Bowen) as well to come on and score straight away.”

“Thomas (Tuchel) has a lot of players to choose from, a lot of young players who have come in and done well, and a lot of experienced players who have been injured and will try to come back, so it’s a good balance. I’m sure he (Tuchel) will look at everyone.”

On Lee Carsley as caretaker manager: “He’s a leader, him and the whole team. After the Euros, it’s not easy to come in and go straight into the Nations League and sometimes the motivation is a little bit less.”

“I’m very happy that we won Register ufabet today and finished with the highest score,”
