Football Association chief executive Mark Bullingham has thanked caretaker manager Lee Carsley for his outstanding performance in guiding England to promotion to the Nations League A.
England finished the Nations League B2 as group winners with 15 points from 6 matches, level with Greece. But the Three Lions have a superior head-to-head record.
“I would like to thank Lee Carsley and his coaching staff for their hard work. And performances over the last six games,” Bullingham said.
“Lee has achieved his target after six games this autumn – promotion back to the top flight of the Nations League. He has picked some exciting new players and will pass them on to Thomas Tuchel and Anthony Barry as they start their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.”
“The players have enjoyed working with Lee and his coaching staff. And have made a real impact in their temporary role. Lee will now return to the Under-21s and continue to play a key role in supporting the senior national team by developing some of England’s best young players.”
